"It is the perfect solution"

I developed FlexiBatch.NET, a "Black Box" scheduling system which is completely independent from the order management front end and any imaginable back end which consumes the scheduling results.

FlexiBatch.NET can schedule virtually anything which can be described in terms of orders, items and item details. FlexiBatch.NET is extensible in many ways.

Properties can be added to an order, item or item details description. Scheduling options like sorting, grouping, grouping criteria's, productions sequences can be defined through a flexile framework.

This flexibility comes with a price for me as the developer. It is impossible to use any way of TDD I know of to make sure that the scheduling results will be correct because I literally don't know what to test.

At this point I discovered SmartInpect Professional 1.0 and immediately noticed that this could be the perfect solution for this problem. In fact it is the perfect solution.

I was able to do solve two major challenges I was facing. Utilizing SmartInspect Professional I can log what the scheduling engine is doing to find potential problems and even more important, I can log which scheduling options are used and what influence on the scheduling result they have. If customers are unsure if the scheduling result is correct they just re-run the batch in question and let SmartInspect Professional log what was going on deep in the system. Priceless!

SmartInspect Professional to me is a real time saver and software shops using FlexiBatch.NET are absolutely stunned how easy it is for them to check their configuration.

SmartInspect Professional got better and better with every release and I can hardly wait for the next version to see what the smart people at Gurock Software are coming up with this time.
