Tour: Team Collaboration Features

SmartInspect contains team collaboration features to comment and edit logs and share them with other team members and customers. You can send a log via email or forward it directly to other Console users. Additionally it is possible to export a log for further processing and to share it with non-SmartInspect users.

Forwarding and Emailing Logs

You can forward and email logs from the Console to co-workers and customers for further review. You can optionally limit the log to the relevant parts by excluding less important information.

1. Send log files to co-workers and customers with your favorite email program directly out of the SmartInspect Console.
2. Quickly inform other team members about important events in your logs by forwarding them directly to their Console.

Commenting and Editing Logs

Another important collaboration feature is the comment functionality. Before forwarding or sending a log to another person, you can add comments to highlight and describe important sections. Other editing features like the Delete and Edit Title commands let you modify and reduce the log to the relevant parts.

Exporting Logs

The export feature is very useful if you want to further process the logging information or want to share a log with non-SmartInspect users. The supported CSV and XML formats are great if you want to import or edit log files with other applications. The HTML format allows you to publish logs on the intranet or internet.

1. The export wizard assists you with exporting your log data. The first wizard page lets you select the details that shall be included in the resulting files. On the second page you choose the desired export format.
2. The HTML export functionality is especially useful for sharing logs with non-SmartInspect users. With the HTML export feature you can publish entire logs on the intranet or internet.
